He is contesting to fulfill his mother's dream

He is a civil engineer. To fulfill his mother's dream he quit his job and is contesting as an independent candidate from Mysore-Chamarajanagar constituency.

MS Praveen a resident of Doodamara Gowdana Halli, Yelwala Hobli, Mysore Taluk is the candidate who was employed in a private college as lecturer, quit his part time job to contest the elections.

MS Praveen who belongs to Kuruba community, is a BE Civil, M Tech Structural Engineer. He is interested to render service to the society on the lines of her mother Nirmala, who was a Taluk Panchayat member.

“When I was in High School, I often went along with my mother, who used to visit villages personally to enquire about the problems of villagers and address their grievances. This had a deep impact on me. Making use of the CM grants and TP grants, she has rendered good service in the DMG Halli and surrounding villages. She had a soft concern towards poor and was always had plans to do something for the upliftment of villagers. Unfortunately she passed away when she was just 33. Now, its my dream to grow in politics and fulfill the dreams of my mother,” said Praveen.

“The present condition of villagers is not good. Its very hard to see farmers working in their field as labourers, which has been taken over by builders long ago at throw away prices. I wish to make villages free of land mafia,” he added.

“Many villages in my constituency lack basic facilities like sanitation and access to clean drinking water. Providing quality education is still a distant dream. With lack of power and ravaged by nature's extreme weather, the living condition of these villagers has become deplorable. Poor are continuing to remain poor. In all, villagers are not able to lead a contended life, though their requirements are not many,” he regretted.

The problems narrated by the villagers when I visit them keeps me pushing to do something for the society. I want to bring a change in the society, and strive for the development of villages and provide children an access to quality education, he added. Six month ago, he had unsuccessfully contested for the Corporation Elections from Ward No 18.
